TPACK lesson reflection

1.     How well the use of this technology may support your teaching strategies in this activity.  The use of technology helped support my teaching strategies tremendously because of the fact I wasn't able to be there physically. But also, because my lesson was mostly relying using the internet via YouTube, and brain quiz.

2.     How effectively the use of this technology may enhance students' understanding of and learning from your particular content in this activity? The use of my resources that were available to my students like YouTube so that I could show my video that I had on Khan academy for my lesson plan. Also, I used a free website to create a quiz, so my students could briefly answer questions from the material the video provided to introduce a new topic.

3.     What are your strategies and why do you think your strategies are appropriate to teaching this specific content? What makes you believe it would help your students comprehend this particular content? The Flipped Classroom is on of the teaching strategies that I used to make my teaching effective. I think it would make it effective because as I said on the Khan academy Ted Talk it shows how the flipped classroom has been a success for 10 years now and I found that I was able to work for me and my lesson as well.

4.     What would be some conceptions and pre-conceptions that students of different ages and backgrounds bring with them when learning this particular content? What would you be concerned about students' prior knowledge, experiences, motivation?
I think the prior knowledge for the student can be based off any age because now a days anyone can work a laptop with internet. I think the only thing I could be worried about is that it would be too time consuming for some people and could procrastinate due to looking up other stuff the internet.

5.     What main instructional strategies would this technology use serve in your activity? How would using the technology support the way you teach this activity? The flipped classroom method by using a online video with a quiz based of that material. Using the technology allows the students to have access to the lesson.

6.     What different classroom management strategies you might need to consider when using this technology in the activity? I think with by having a more elaborate lesson plan with better videos and activities for the students to gain knowledge and be able to quiz themselves for a daily grade assignment.

7.     In what different ways students practice or understand the content in your activity that would otherwise not be possible without the use of the technology? In addition to motivational benefits, what else can students do with this technology as they are learning the content?  I think the only way you couldn’t use the technology and how it wouldn’t work would be that if students were having a hard time with working with the internet, but everything is accessible I don’t think it would be a real issue with helping students learn. They can discover and start learning on their own.

8.     How would using this technology enhance the way the content is represented in your activity (e.g. demonstrations, explanations, examples, illustrations, analogies, and etc.)? That is why you think the selection and the pedagogical use of this technology may enhance what you teach (the content in your activity) I think this technology gives students a different way to think and understand the material. It benefits other students that may be having difficulties in class and using these videos on youtube can help the student break down the video on your own time and pace.

3D Technology

3D printing technology is one of the greatest inventions in my opinion it offers tons of benefits in the fields of medicine, engineering, business, education, and any creative idea you could have which is pretty awesome if you ask me. 3D technology also lets us explore and discover things from the past like how the Smithsonian 3D program. With this type of technology the possibilities are endless it can make everyday life safer by allowing architects to build prototypes of bridges and buildings making sure they are secure enough. I think all teachers should have access to this tech and I think students could really benefit learning experiences for them when covering a lesson. However, this technology is no walk in the park it does have some bugs and issues. And without teachers getting proper training on how to work the printer it could cause many problems to the machine because they need to know how to properly use it to allow students to benefit from this technology. Overall I think this 3D technology is amazing having so many benefits that contribute to the world.

Inquiry and Questions

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge A Framework for Teacher Knowledge
-Overtime will Technology take over schools with making everything "digital" whipping out paper books?

-Will relying on technology cause kids in school to be less active outside because they are more entertained with being inside? But will having smart boards help get kids more engaged with school work making learning fun and not boring?

-Is it really important for all teachers especially ones who are a little more "old school" to get special training to implement more technology in their class?

The Net Generation
-With technology taking over how students learn material especially in college would it make older adults have trouble with classes because of the evolution of computers etc.?

-With students taking surveys and with most of them requesting more accessibility to online activities will this cause students to lack face to face communication and public speaking to decrease in generations to come?

Teaching and Technology: The Hidden Effects of Computers on Teachers and Students
-With students having more access to computers, smart boards and smart tables benefit there ability to learn and grasp ideas better?

-How will technology change the traditional classroom and how students learn?

-What if some students don't have access to internet, computers, etc?

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is something that I think is cool. It makes teaching more productive and meaningful by streamlining assignments. It allows teachers and their students to communicate better with real time feedback and grades which can help students out tremendously.  You can also sync your Google classroom with Google Docs, Calendar, Gmail, Drive, and Forms. As a student it gives you all the tools to be successful in that class with instant feedback on grades, allowing you to track classwork and materials, share resources with the class, and submit assignments. As a parent you have to be concerned with your child with their performance in the class. Luckily, Google Classroom gives parents access to a summary of their child's work in that class. As a parent I would like to know how my kid is doing so this is a great tool that I think most schools should be using so they stay on top of their work and not just lie that they don't have any work causing them to be on the verge of failing. No parent would want to see their kid fail they want them to be successful and ambitious and Google classroom could make that more of a possibility. Being a teacher especially in today world it wouldn't make sense to not use Google Classroom. Its easy to set up with allowing you to communicate with students through classroom stream and create assignments for students. Making assignments online are not just easier on you but also the environment with it being paperless thats always something to think about. I think that Google Classroom is a efficient tool for making students, parents and teachers.

Technology

Einstein Quote- I think Einstein made a very good point in where technology would take over humanity and make everything "easier". But I also think technology can also have many benefits. For example, my Mom is teacher with "VipKid" and its a program where she teaches kids from Japan English. I think technology is great if with use it the right way.

One Simple Question- Growing up as a kid technology was never a real big thing with my brothers and I. Because our parents were very old school. I was fortunate enough to have a big back yard with a playground, trampoline and swimming pool. We did have access to a play station but could only play at night time after dinner for an 1 hour and a half. I was never really interested with technology and all that stuff.

Technology Hijacked Dinner Time- Growing up we did have access to watching Tv while eating whether it was a football game or Americas got talent something family friendly was always on. I never saw a problem with it because we would all still talk and laugh about our days especially during the holidays.

How millennial's use Technology- Millennial's use technology almost like its second nature. I go to the mall or even out to eat seeing 7 and 8 year olds with Iphones having there faces buried in them and knowing exactly how to work them. Overtime I think technology will just take over generations to come.

HIV Vaccinations- With the advancement of technology means advancement with in the medical field. I think there will soon be an outbreak for a cure on HIV with technologies help.

Best Inventions 2017-  Some of the best inventions of 2017 would have to be the iPhone X you have all this power in one handheld device. It was one of the first phones to have a full screen effect giving you a better image. I also think the Nest Secure was also a great invention making keeping you and loved ones safer in the house you live in.

Gene Edited Baby- Technology shouldn't mix with humans and it wouldn't end up well. I think i would cause future problems with generations to come.
